Mixing Blood Pressure Medication with other Tablets

By jacqui ward Thursday, September 06, 2007

My 76 year old mother has recently started taking 20mg Olmesartan Medoxomil tablets for her high blood pressure. However, they do not seem to be lowering her blood pressure levels at all. Her GP is reluctant to try an alternative medication for her, as she does have problems taking tablets generally.

She also suffers from ostoeporosis, and is taking Actonel 35mg risedronate sodium tablets once a week for this.

Would there be any reason why her system would not respond properly to the blood pressure tablets?

Also, would she be okay to take Hawthorn tablets or Gingko tablets along with her medication?

Many thanks!
