"Carbohydrates, especially those made with wheat flour, cornstarch, and sugars, make us fat and hypertensive. Reduction or elimination of these foods yields large reductions in systolic and pulse pressure."

There are BILLIONS of slender people with low blood pressure who thrive on starch-based diets.  Foods like potatoes, rice, wheat, millet, barley, maize, and sorghum are the primary source of calories for the world's largest healthly, normal-weight populations, and have been for thousands of years.  Watch the video here: http://www.potato2008.org.  Sugars have nothing to recommend them (unless they're in fruit), and cornstarch is used in such tiny amounts that it isn't relevant.  (Obviously, gluten-sensitive people shouldn't eat wheat, and American wheat has way too much gluten in it.)

I keep a log of my blood pressure a couple times a week at home.  I wanted to write it down so it would be easier to show my doctor.  I got a log off blood pressurelog.net and I started eating just alittle better and walking.  I keep watching my Blood Pressure go down and it decreasing the medication I need.

I constantly have to check my blood pressure and make sure I keep it low. That's why I try to avoid salt at all costs. I figure, my food might now taste as satisfying, but I'll at least save money on the doctor and medical insurance bills.
