I'm confused. In this article, you say, "Thiazides increase small LDL particles. Remember these, the number one cause for heart disease in the U.S.?"
Whereas on your Heartscan Blog, you speak of "...potential "risk factors," especially the fictitious LDL cholesterol."
I'm just a 55 y.o. engineer starting to take action on my stage 1 hypertension; not involved in medicine in any way. What's the story on LDL?
I would not hesitate to try and remove wheat from the diet to see what happens. I was diagnosed over 1 year ago with celiac disease. Since being on a gluten free diet my asthma is gone. I would have multiple flare ups that required steriods, antibiotics and nebulizer treatments. I have not been ill at all in over a year. My LDL went down 30 points within 6 months on a gluten free diet. I had severe PMS that is now gone too!
So why not give it a try? Many people are eating gluten free to help control diabetes and there have been dramatic results from those with Autism that have tried the diet.
The doc may just have something there!!
How does wheat affect blood pressure?
