Thursday, November 06, 2008 at 05:54 PMEven though you did not see the results you were hoping for regarding your blood pressure numbers, you should be proud of your weight loss! Losing 45 lbs is great news. And you should be commended for getting up and going to the gym 4 days a week.
I know it's disheartening to not have seen lower BP numbers, but there are many factors which you cannot control like age, gender and ethnicity that all play a role in your blood pressure levels. You have to remember that there are other health benefits to weight loss and exercise such as increased energy, faster metabolism, decreased risk for diabetes and heart disease - just to name a few!

I did take off 45 pounds and I go to the gym 4 days a week and my BP was still high. I'm on meds now So I could have not lose the weight and not go to the gym and just take the pills. It would be the same thing.
