Reverse Readings - Higher BP when lying down, lower when sitting up.

Is there any association with lower BP when sitting or standing and vertigo? My spouse has been struggling for a year without a clear diagnosis, but we have recently identified through vestibular therapy that her blood pressure in fact is higher when lying down.

I am unaware of whether or not that has an affect on vestibular function.  However, I have been feeling fatigued this past week.  I mentioned it to my chiropractor today and he tested my blood pressure both lying down and sitting up.  I too had a reversal, where my blood pressure was higher lying down then it was when I sat up.  He called this a positive something...which is why I'm on the computer researching this...He told me that this was an indication of problems with the adrenal system.  I'm just currently researching it myself, but thought I would share.

That is definietly an indicator that it is an issue with the adrenal system.  It could be either primary adrenal insufficiency (Addison's Disease) or secondary adrenal insufficiency. It's not something to ignore, but many mainstream medical doctors won't find it.  Have you been under extreme stress for a long period of time?

I was diagnosed with secondary adrenal insufficiency in 2001.  I was extremely fatigued, 89 lbs (I'm 5'5"), my bp was 70/50, and I had severe problems with my stomach.  After 27 trips to the ER in 9 months, and countless (useless) dr appts, I turned to a naturpathic doctor in CT.  He diagnosed me with secondary adrenal insufficncy, hypothyroidism, candiaisis in my lower intestine, leaky guy, and 22 latent food allergies.  I knew I was real sick, but I didn't realize how sick until he put me on hydrocortisone and nature-throid.  After 9 yrs, I was weaned off the steroids, my stomach is healthy, and I have 9 latent food allerigies.  I feel much much better, but I still have to be careful of my stress level, and what I eat.
