My dad on new medication and getting dizzy. How long does it take for the body to adjust?

He was taking Losartin.  That wasn't handling his blood pressure, so the doctor added Amlodipine and Hydrochlorothiazide.  He just started taking it, but he has been getting dizzy.  What is the adjustment period?
