Sudden Rise in Blood Pressure

I have always had normal blood pressure in the range of 112-120/65-70. I hadn't checked it in a few months and all of a sudden it has been in the range of 136-149/85-90. variation in systolic and diastolic measurements?

I have recently received results of a 24 hr blood pressure monitor which resulted in slightly higher systolic results and normal diastolic results. Blood pressure medication and my menstrual cycle?

I have been on regular BP meds for over a year now, and have had very irregular periods. before my meds my bp would rise during my period, so high in fact I had to be taken to the Emergency room on 2 occasions. Does my blood pressure pill affect my menstural cycle? can it make it all but dissapear? I take Benicar HCT 20/12.5 Thanks
