will a b.p of 210 leads to death at any time? is this b.p level is due to his drinking habbit?

hi i am abarna gomez my husband accidentally checked his b.p when we went to hospital to take some treatment for me.i was shocked by seeing the reaction of doctor while checking b.p for my husband.it was 210 even after taking more than 2 readings.he use to drink daily.he is drinking for the past 10 years it seems.we just got married and i am scared as if any thing will go wrong.

Hi Abarna,

 

A systolic (top number) blood pressure of 210 mm Hg is extremely elevated and does warrant immediate treatment.  Alcohol does have an impact blood pressure.  I recommend your husband work with his physician to stabilize his blood pressure and develop an appropriate treatment plan.
