Q: my legs are swelling can you tell me what to do to help the pain or swelling

i am a 52 yr olnd man i have 2 hernias and heart problems and high blood pressure

Thanks for your question.  It is very difficult to give you an accurate answer to this question.  Much more information is needed.  Given your history of heart problems and high blood pressure, I suggest you make an appointment to see your physician for an evaluation of your complaints.  He will take your history and examine you, after which he will have a better idea of what's going on and what is the best approach.  Further testing may be required.

While leg swelling can occur after long periods of standing, especially in the heat, it can also be a sign of a heart problem. You should see your physician who may want to prescribe a pill to eliminate excess body fluid or even re-evaluate the status of your heart function.
