fluid leaks on feet
my feet swell and leaks fulid and gets red
Cathy,
Thanks for your post. Swelling of the feet and legs can be a symptom of many medical situations, and the fact you're leaking tells me the amount of fluid is significant. The fact that there is redness causes concern and may indicate irritation or even infection.
I suggest you see your physician as soon as possible to evaluate the swelling, leaking, and redness. He will take your total health situation into consideration during this evaluation and come up with answers, or a plan of testing to find the answers. Then a course of treatment to help the situation can be outlined.
Until you see the doctor, try to keep your legs elevated - at least the same level as your heart. This means lying down with a pillow under your legs. In addition, warm compresses (not hot) should be appllied. This can be done by soaking hand towels in warm water and wrapping them around your legs. Try to avoid situations where your legs are hanging down for prolonged periods, which increases the pressure in your veins and further contributes to the swelling.
Again, I urge you to see your physician as soon as possible. Thank you and best wishes.
