Q: I take blood pressure medicine. If my pressure is controlled, can I take low doses of phenterzine? I am only 15 lbs overweight can't loose the weight because of menopause.

Hi Sandy,

 

Discuss with your physician before altering your medication. If you have not made any diet/lifestyle changes to promote a lower blood pressure you will likely need to maintain your blood pressure dosage to keep your blood pressure controlled. If you've been making diet/lifestyle changes to promote a lower blood pressure it may be possible to start weaning off the medication. I recommend working with your physician to determine your options and monitor results.
