  Virginia,   Thanks for your question.  Sorry to hear that you're having problems that require hospitalization.  After reading your question, it is clear that's the best place to be right now.  The are numerous possibilities for your complaints, and speculation would just be a guess at this point.  This could be something minor, like a viral syndrome, or could be something more serious.  You need a full evaluation which, as you have indicated, will include diagnostic studies to get to the bottom of this.    I hope everything turns out well.  Best wishes.   Martin Cane, M.D.
