What could be the causes for High BP to stay after a pregnancy with hypertension?

Im only 22 yrs old! Shortly after my son was born last july my high blood pressure returned. After several raised dosages and a scary trip to the ER my dosage is 10mg of altace. I know it's a very bad idea to get pregnant now, BUT i would like to get off this medication some day and have another baby. I now eat healthier, excercise and try to stay away from salty foods. I'm 5'2, and now weight 159lbs. I lost about 20 pounds. Still my BP starts to rise and i get headaches if i forget to take it for a few hours. Will i ever be able to get off this medication? What else can i do?
