What could be the causes for High BP to stay after a pregnancy with hypertension?

Im only 22 yrs old! Shortly after my son was born last july my high blood pressure returned. After several raised dosages and a scary trip to the ER my dosage is 10mg of altace. I know it's a very bad idea to get pregnant now, BUT i would like to get off this medication some day and have another...
