Hi Fran,
I do not recommend diet pills, with or without high blood pressure.
Many weight loss supplements contain "undeclared pharmaceutical ingredients", frequently in levels exceeding FDA recommendations. These ingredients include drugs not approved in the U.S. These substances impact blood pressure and anti-seizure medications, diuretics, along with drugs linked to suicide, depression, and cancer.
All the best,

7 Natural Ways to Lower Blood Pressure
There is an over-the-counter diet medication called Alli. It works by blocking the absorption of some fat from your intestines. You should take 1 capsule within one hour of eating a meal. If you forget, you can take it up to one hour after the meal.
It does have some side effects. I would not recommend having high-fat meals with this because it will worsen the side effects. It can cause cramping and diarrhea. It's not allowing the fat to be absorbed, so it is leaving your body in your feces. I would recommend taking your first few doses at home because of the diarrhea. It is not typically as bad with the over-the-coutner strength of this drug, but use caution.
It usually runs about $30-40 per bottle.
It won't effect your Diovan, but if you are taking any other medications, talk with someone at the pharmacy first.

That you for your response. I understand but I am desperate to lose at least 10 pounds before my son's wedding. I am in my early 60s and it is not easy even with dieting and walking. Any suggestions? Thank you again.
