Q: Hey guys I have a question about erratic bp. Can be all over the place, from unreadable to 98 over 56 with clonidine.

I am on enalapril and toprol and keppra for seizures.Getting wild fluctuations.  Husband took reading on his arm and it was normal.  I could not even get reading for 3 hrs. I did have thoracid cat scan and I do have a mild 43 mm ascending aortic aneurysm.   Had higher renin levels and was wondering if this could attribute to the fluctuations.  Also notice whenever stress, it skyrockets.  My cardiologist said that this could just be what my body does, just need to control bp because of aortic aneurysm.  Could use any advise as right now not getting readings.  thanks

Hi S Smith,

I understand your reason for concern that you can't even get a blood pressure reading. Your cardiologist is really your best resource to discuss these issues, determine the cause and appropriate treatment. If necessary, consider getting a second opinion to ensure the treatment approach is the best option for you.
