My husband and I have to monitor our pressure regularly.  We purchased a battery cuff that goes above the elbow and compared with the doctor's equipment, it failed.  It would not come close to being accurate.  Therefore, we bought a battery operated wrist monitor and it came very close to the doctor's monitor.  We have checked it a couple of times compared with the doctor's and it is always close or the exact reading.  Good luck!
