Q: benefits of red grape juice instead of red wine

I am a recovering alcoholic (27 years recovery), and do not drink alcohol.  I am able to drink dealcoholized wine and am curious if the dealcoholized wine or just ordinary red grape juice (what about red grapes?) will have the same benefits?  Thank-you!

Hi Taylorbuss,

Eating red grapes and/or consuming red grape juice will provide some of the same benefits as red wine in that they are both high in flavonoids that can protect the heart.  Here's a link to more information on flavonoids - http://www.healthcentral.com/high-blood-pressure/c/63485/78161/eating.

All the best,
