Q: low diastolic pressure, low resting pulse

I've been taking analapril and cozaar for several years and my BP is usually 135/65. Why is the lower number so low? also after 40 years of master swimming my resting pulse is 42. Too low?

Hi Bigmac,

A diastolic blood pressure reading of 65 is actually quite good and not too low. The more fit you are the lower resting heart rate tends to be.  However, I recommend being evaluated by your physician to determine if your resting heart rate warrants concern.
