Q: my doctor is trying to lower my bp and i would like to know if they are safe together ? Lisonopril 20mg 2twice daily/clonidine 0.3mg 1 tab 3times a day/norvasc 2.5mg 1 daily/diovan 320mg 1 daily

i have taken clonidine 0.3mg andhydroclorizide and lisinopril for 9 years and my preasure was getting higher like 180/110 etc so my doctor is trying to get it lower with out lowering my pulse which is always low 62 or 54 .I have heard mixed talk about using the Lisinopril in this combination ?

Lowering high blood pressure successfully often means combining medication. However, the more medications the greater your risk for side effects and drug interactions, which is why you want to weigh the pros/cons with your physician to determine the appropriate approach for you. Your pharmacist would be a good resource to discuss the potential drug interactions.
