No, the DASH diet is something you follow long term and it provides long term results. DASH diet is high in fruits/vegetables. Mediterranean diet emphasizes heart healthy fats. (There's more to each diet, but that gives you basic difference.) Since your doctor is letting you pick which you want to follow, I recommend the DASH Diet.

Does DASH give you real results or is it kind of like Fasting; you lose weight but doesn't last. I guess what I mean is it a real result or just a temporary thing?
Do you eat the same foods? On Mediterranean Diet as you do DASH? Or are they completely different?
