Hi Rs2080,
It can take time for diet and lifestyle changes to start to have an impact on blood pressure levels. If your blood pressure is not lowering with your current medication, I recommend contacting your physician to determine if your treatment plan needs to be adjusted.
I also recommend you consider the DASH Diet .
All the best,

7 Natural Ways to Lower Blood Pressure
5 years ago my bp was 160/120 and i was having chest pains i thought it was a heart attack , first off relax a few and see if it drops, keep in mind your bp is about the same as mine and i was untreated for 5 years at that level so just relax and see if its stress making your BP go up sometimes it takes time so see what works for you everyones got a different reaction to the same medications , just be calm and get to the appointments and see if the diet works of if u need help with stress me mine would shoot up to 170/134 after a argument with my girlfriend that resulted in a breakup , so the old saying stress can kill you might just be true after all lol good luck with your hypertension and look around on the site lots of usefull information my blood pressure is under control now with the help of the posters on this website
