Never occurred to me that my hacking cough and itchy throat and sleepless nights was caused by lisinopril until the doctor matched the timing of the cough with the start of the medication.  I have been off it for a week now and doctor substituted it with Atenolol.  The cough and itchy throat has gotten better but I still have it and feel constant need to clear the throat but its not as bad as it was before.  I was told that it would take 2-3 weeks to clear this by the nurse.

GOod luck.
