Q: What causes the Top number to be high "200" while the bottom number is normal 65.

Over the past few weeks my Moms blood pressure has gone up very high.  The top number is over 200 while the bottom number is usualyy about 64.  She takes two different kinds of B/P medication, Lisinopril and Toprol.

that is a strange one.  In fact i would see my doctor as 200 for a top reading is way too high whilst the bottom is quite normal although it could be a little higher.

Yes she must see her doctor.
