are there any studies about inverse coorelation between heart rate and blood pressure?

my heart rate and blood pressure vary widely and because my blood pressure (at rest) has been as high as 160/90, my doctor wants me to take Diovan. but sometimes my blood pressure is normal or even a bit lower 116/70. i've noticed that when the pressure is lower my heart rate is...
