Hello Kelly,

Xatral or alfuzosin is an alpha-1 blocker with selective action on the prostate to help its smooth muscle to relax and allow urine to pass better.  Bisoprolol is a member of the beta blocker family of medications used for a wide variety of reasons related to the heart, especially blood pressure.

The concurrent use of these medications is generally not a problem.  Alfuzosin can lower the blood pressure as well as help with urination, so watch for signs of low blood pressure.  These signs include dizziness or light-headedness, especially when standing or changing position.

Hope this helps.

To your health,

Neil MD
