I'm 60 years old, experiencing high systolic numbers between 2-5am before meal and before taking bp med, average reading is 138 and between 4-5pm, before dinner and before taking bp med, average reading is 141, with corresponding low diastolic numbers of 77 and 80. However, between 5-6am after running 1/2 to 1 hour, systolic is 114 and at 6:30pm after eating dinner but not taking bp med yet, systolic is 113, with corresponding low diastolic numbers of 65 and 62. I take my bp med between 7 and 7:30pm. I was taking Inderal 20mg 2xday for awhile, but it was tapered down to Inderal 10mg once daily on 6/4. Also, on June 4th, Lisinopril 10mg once daily was added. Inderal was stopped completely on 6/11. The Inderal was switched to Lisinopril because the Inderal was making me feel very tired. I run 1hr then do 1.5hr tennis (using ball machine) in am daily and then, do 1.5hr more of tennis (using ball machine) in pm 3x/week. What are your choice of medications to lower someone's systolic reading without affecting an already low diastolic reading?
Your feedback will be appreciated. Thank you.
