I have usually had BP around 120/70. two months ago I happened to get it checked and discovered 160/110. I continued monitoring for two weeks- always near that number. Saw my dr. who ordered exams- Holter (confirmed high even at night), blood work (all normal- small deviation kidney factors), Thyroid ok (I take levothyroxine), ekg normal, sonogram abdomen ok. Not wanting to take drugs for this yet I decided to lose weight and eliminate salt. I've lost 4 kg. A week ago il systolic number started lowering. for the past few days both have been lowered. consistently 120/70! What's going on? was it the weight loss or eliminating salt? I have antiphospholipid syndrome- anything related to that? I'm a year into menopause- age 50. Who should I see to put some perspective on this? What should I do, if anything?
