Florence,   Thanks for your question.  Yes 68/45 is low, but are you having any symptoms of dizziness, weakness or lightheadedness, especially when sitting up from a lying position, or standing up from a sitting position?  If you are not having any symptoms, this situation is not serious.  If you are having symptoms, you should contact your physician immediately for his instructions on what to do.    If you are not having symptoms, then it would be a good idea to see your doctor as soon as possible for his reading of your blood pressure and instructions on what to do.  This may well require a change in medication, but he will be the one to decide.   As to why this is happening?  It's impossible to answer this without seeing the patient, asking further questions, and performing an examination.    Best wishes and feel better.   Martin Cane, M.D.
