Q: I get random high blood pressure on some evenings, along with a high heart rate. I am already on bp medication. I have other health issues. I do not know what is causing this.

It is my diastolic bp that goes high and my heart rate. I can tell because I become nauseated, I shake, I cry for no reason, and I get a terrible headache. I have to take pain medication for the headache and then I just have to suffer until I get over the symptoms. I have lung disease and an immune deficiency. I am on medications. But I don't know what is causing this?? A few of the readings are 151/95, with a heart rate of 96. I am five feet tall and weigh around 102. Another night, it was 161/100, hr 86.

I recommend you contacting your primary doctor in regards to this, who is aware of all the medications you are on and your entire health history. Continue to keep a accurate log of your blood pressure readings to discuss with your doctor.

There are many things that can lead to high blood pressure and spikes in blood pressure. Please read the following link for more information in regards to this-high blood pressure.

Hope you start to feel better soon,
