Q: Low Pulse Rate

I am on medicine(methoprolol) for my hypertension for aoubt ten years now.My pulse rate is 49 per minute.Considerably low. I am 46 years old.How can I improve my pulse rate? I am worry about the rate.

Hi Reginald,

 

I encourage you to consult your physician on this matter.  If a low heart rate is a concern, sometimes pacemakers are used to regulate heart beat.  However, your physician may be able to give you alternative options.
