Hi Dave,   Your blood pressure is considered "pre-hypertensive" and does increase your heart disease risk.  You want to lower your blood pressure to below 120/80.  You didn't give your height, so I can't say for sure that you should lose a few pounds, but weight loss of even 10 pounds might be all it takes to bring your blood pressure down to where it needs to be.   The thing with high blood pressure is most people would say they feel perfectly fine.  That's why it's known as the "silent killer".  Better to be safe than sorry.  Make sure you are following a heart healthy diet and being physically active, as a result your weight should go down a few pounds and your blood pressure will follow.   All the best, Lisa Nelson, RD, LN Lower Cholesterol, Control Blood Pressure, Lose Weight
