Hi Shirley,

When it comes to medication, it's best to consult your physician and/or pharmacist.  Someone that knows your medical history and the medications you currently take.

It is a very good question, and not one with an easy answer. Tylenol is probably okay for your BP, but does not reduce swelling so it may not do much for pain. Avoid NSAIDs, motrin and alleve, but even aspirin, also an NSAID, can interfere with BP meds.

Recently I started taking Bromelain with some success. You can check about its effectiveness, safety, etc. reliably at the NIH web site for supplements. NIH weighs the evidence and gives the typical dosing amounts. Never listen to the health food store folks!
