BP is not a bright line below which you are safe, above which you are not. Nor is it a fixed number--so the first question, how long is it elevated? Minutes? Hours? If that is a typical pressure for you, you run a real risk of organ damage. Any symptoms when this happens, headache?

As it turns out, at that pressure, you are right on the cusp of hypertensive urgency and hypertensive emergency. In hypertensive urgency, if you have a fast acting med, like clonidine, you would take the med and monitor to see whether it came down. If not or your BP climbed higher, go to the ER where they may bring it down by injection.
