Q: Time to be concerned...medication versus natural measures...

My blood pressure used to average 118-120 over 75-80 when I was in my 20s...I have always been very active (excercise, don't smoke or drink) but my blood pressure now averages around 140 over 90...I am a 48 year old 180 pound male that excercises three times a week running and weight training and have recently started a more natural diet.  I am under alot of stress from my job...my physician said it may be time to think about medication...time to be concerned? Can natural measures bring the bp down consistently...

Thanks

Hi Rob,

You can make changes to your diet and lifestyle to reduce/eliminate the need for medication. I encourage you to learn more about the DASH diet . It's a very effective way to lower blood pressure.

All the best,
