Q: I am diabetic and lisenopril makes me cough.

I am diabetic and was recently put on Lisenopril for high blood pressure.  Lisenopril makes me cough - do you have another generic I can use?

Hi Grandmom,

Yes, there are other medication options to treat high blood pressure other than Lisinopril.  However, I recommend discussing your side effect (cough) with your physician.  Since your physician knows your entire situation they're in the best position to make a recommendation.

All the best,
