Q: Could an abrupt rise in blood pressure be caused by menopause? I have gone all my life with very low BP and suddenly started having health issues and a very high BP. Nothing has changed in my life.

I am a little overweight and on a vegetarian diet. Nothing has changed in my life but suddenly, my blood pressure went from a normal 110/70 to 158/90. The doctor is taking blood work but I wonder if this is because I am in the midst of menopause? Turning 50 this year. This happened six years ago and it fixed itself after a few weeks. But I don't know what can be causing this.
