Hi Chocolatebear,

The primary use of Catapres is for blood pressure lowering. However, it has been found to be beneficial for other conditions, such as hot flashed associated with menopause. It is available as a patch which you would apply on a hair-free area of your upper arm or torso. The patch is worn for 1 week at a time. Common side effects of this medication include constipation, dry mouth, headache, and fatigue. These side effects also tend to decrease over time, as your body gets used to the medication and its effects.

Thanks for your question!
