Heart attack and stents give out - what to do now?

My mother in law had a heart attack just a few days ago.  Her two stents gave out.  We were told that there was nothing that can be done for her.  Her prognosis per her doctor is that she can live a day, a week, a month, or 10 years.  I find it hard to believe that there is nothing that can be done medically.  What suggestions do you have that we can follow up on?  I appreciate any advice given.  Thank you.
