Hello black foresst,   Losartan is an ARB or angiotensin receptor blocker, while lisinoprol is an ACEi or angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor.  Both medications work to lower blood pressure via the same biochemical pathway but in slightly different ways.   A couple of things about these meds.  The ARB class of medications is newer, and while well-studied in terms of safety, does not have the same studies to document the wide range of benefits that ACEi's confer.   (The theory is that the two drugs should have equivalent effects.)  ACEi's however can cause an unpleasant dry cough in about 10% of people while ARBs do not do.   To your health, Neil MD
