Blood pressure is very dynamic and can change from time to time depending on internal and external factors. Exercise, lack of sleep, anxiety, and stress are just a few of the things that can affect a person's pressure. Pain certainly can raise blood pressure, especially if it is chronic or ongoing. If your pain has resulted in a rise in your blood pressure, then reducing or eliminating the pain should result in improvement of your readings. Be sure your doctor keeps an eye on your blood pressure while you are under treatment. If your pain is eliminated and your blood pressure remains elevated, then medication may have to be added or adjusted for control of your pressure. Be sure to discuss this with your physician on your next visit.
