Q: My wife had hip surgery and as a result contracted a staph infection. She is on Heparin but lately red spots have been appearing on her lower leg along with some swelling on the ankles. What is it?
Hi Lakerjay,
Two possibilities may be due to the infection or an allergic reaction. I recommend contacting her physician to determine the cause and appropriate treatment.
