Under-skin rash on L calf due to HBP meds?

Karen
11/07/09

I just started taking Diovan HCT which I had taken years before. I recently noticed on my left calf, inside and just below the knee an under-the-skin blotching, brownish-red, that goes down toward the ankle and onto the front of my left shin (small spots). This does not itch, and there's no change in the skin texture. Could this be a reaction to the Diovan? I am allergic to most sulfa drugs (Bactrim DS, etc.). Should I call my doctor and possibly switch my high blood pressure meds?
