Q: Blood pressure concern

Hello,

I have a question regarding blood pressure, I was recently at the chiropractor and I had him check my BP. Nevertheless, my BP was 153/90 and the next visit was 140/80. I am 29yrs old in fairly good shape; I walk every day and don't eat junk food.

I recently bought a BP monitor to take home readings....So far I've had readings of 99/65, 106/68. 120/ 75, and 131/81

Also I believe I have anxiety lately, so I am confused with all the different readings.

I don't deal with stress well, and my pulse elevates just checking. My question is how do you determine if you have high blood pressure. Do I consider my higher readings high blood pressure? CAn you still have good BP that fluctuates like this?

Regards,

nick

Hi Nick 29,

It is great that you are monitoring your blood pressure and aware of the changes. Catching issues earlier makes it much easier to prevent long term complications.

It is normal for blood pressure to fluctuate throughout the day depending on different activities, such as level of activity, physical or mental stress, diet and sleep pattern. Here's a post you may want to review:
