Hello mena,   Caduet is a combination medication of norvasc and lipitor.  Norvasc, also called amlopidine, is used to reduce your blood pressure.  Lipitor, also called atorvistatin, is used to reduce your LDL and total cholesterol levels.  Combination pills very rarely have benefits greater than the two medications of which they are composed.   If you have had high cholesterol in the past that was lowered by taking atorvistatin alone or with the Caduet. then you likely will need to take at least a statin for life.  High cholesterol (or hyperlipidemia) is not cured by taking a pill for a certain amount of time, like how your can cure an infection with an antibiotic.   And as always, you should not discontinue any medication without letting the prescribing physician know first!   To your health, Neil MD
