Carl Ceasar,   Thanks for your question.  Labetalol, a beta blocker, is routinely used for the treatment of high blood pressure.  It is available as a generic - labetalol, and is also marketed under brands names such as Normodyne and Trandate.  It is not used for the treatment of urinary problems.  Some drugs are in use for other purposes, known as "off label" indications, but urine control is not one of those.     Other blood pressure medications, however, are used for treatment of urinary and prostate problems.  These include Hytrin (terazosin) and Cardura (doxazosin) both of which are in a class of drugs called alpha blockers.    I hope this information has been helpful to you.   Martin Cane, M.D.
