Is there a connection between sudden high blood pressure and vertigo?

My mother is 79 years old. 5 years ago she had breast cancer, got surgery and anastrozole which

she's still taking. She also has glaucoma. Recently, she had a strong vertigo attack where she would

have fallen had her friend not caught her. Her doctor administered her to the hospital but they did not seem to find anything. She had high blood pressure while she usually has blood pressures of a twenty year old. She gets medication for her vertigo, but she still has vertigo and feels week. She also has still high blood pressure. What can be the cause of sudden high blood pressure and vertigo? Is there a connection between sudden high blood pressure and vertigo?
