If you have a bladder or kidney infection would it cause your blood pressure to be extremely high?

today I went to the obgyn for bladder infection.  My blood pressure has been extremely high over the last week or so.  I check it every day about 10 times because I am concerned about the numbers.  My family doctor knows about the numbers and just says to keep taking my bp and record the results.  I am concerned, should I be?

Thanks so much for your posted question.  I searched our site and thought you might want review the Causes of HBP and Risk Factors sections.

As well, you may want to take a look at your diet and if you had been on any medications for the UTI.  They could have effected your BP.

Hope this helps and all the best, sue
