Can the drug Felodipine cause shaking and shivering as a side effect for two hours in a lady aged 86

Thanks for your question.  Though shaking and shivering is not specifically listed as side effects for felodipine, this still may be a side effect for you.  Felodipine can slow the heart rate which can be dramatic, especially in senior patients.  If your blood pressure dropped too low, this could also cause your symptoms. 

 

I would contact your physician to be seen as soon as possible to have your pressure and pulse checked.  He/she might perform an EKG to be sure that the electrical activity of the heart has not been affected.  Then you can discuss whether it's safe to continue this medication, or try another type.
