Q: Ginsing

I would like to know can you take ginsing if you have high blood pressure as my Doctor and Pharmacist have advised me no to as it highers your bood pressure.

Hi Helene,

 

There are different types of ginseng and some, such as ginsenoside Rg1 acts as a stimulant and raises blood pressure.  I recommend following your doctor and pharmacists advice and not using the supplement if you have high blood pressure.
